Believe More, Sell More

I want to talk about something that can change everything when it comes to closing more sales: belief.
If you know me, you know I love the word believe. It’s one of my favorite words—and yes, I’m a big Ted Lasso fan (where belief is a major theme).
I even have signs and gifts around my office that say Believe—reminders of how powerful it is to live and lead from a place of belief.
In sales, belief starts before the conversation even begins.

We need to believe in ourselves.

We need to get into the right emotional state with a pre-call ritual.

We need to stay calm, confident, and curious throughout the entire conversation.
But there is a special kind of belief that becomes even more important when it is time to close a sales conversation.
It is the belief in the person sitting across from you.
When I know that someone is the right fit, when I believe I can help them and that we are meant to work together, I tell them. Not because it is a strategy, but because it is true.
Sometimes people are right on the edge. They are almost ready to say yes, but they need a little encouragement. They need someone to transfer belief to them.
Here’s an example of what I might say at the end of a conversation:
"I believe this is a fit.
I believe you have what it takes to be an exceptional coach.
I know I can help you and if we invite God into this, it’s a done deal.
I’m ready to move forward with you. Are you ready?"
It's not pushy. It's not manipulative.
It's simply transferring the certainty that I already feel inside.
Authentic confidence is contagious.
The Lesson: Believe, and Say It Out Loud
Whether you’re on a sales call, in an interview, or offering someone an opportunity to grow, when you know deep down that it's right, say it.
Not as a manipulation. Only with full authenticity, full integrity.
Transfer your belief to them.
Invite God into the process.
And watch what happens.
