How Much Content Do Coaches Need to Create?

One of the most common questions I get from new coaches is, "How much content do I need for my coaching program?" The answer might surprise you: Not much at all.

Here’s the Truth: Less is More!

1️⃣ For One-on-One Coaches:
You may not need any content at all! Being a great coach often means becoming a master at asking the right questions, and guiding your clients to find their own answers. No curriculum is required to make a meaningful impact.

2️⃣ For Group Programs:
Even in group settings, content isn’t always necessary. Sometimes the most powerful sessions are just about asking a few key questions, encouraging group discussion, and providing space for personal reflection. This type of coaching can be transformational without loads of materials or structured lessons.

     Here are a few things you could do:

  • Facilitate Meaningful Conversations: Ask powerful questions and let your clients share their insights.

  •  Encourage Journaling and Sharing: Let clients reflect and share in breakout rooms.

  •  Provide Additional Coaching: Offer feedback and answer questions related to a specific topic.

3️⃣ Play the Hits – Stick to Core Content:

When it comes to creating actual teaching material, start small! Focus on just 4-6 key topics that you can build on over time. You don’t need 50 different lessons to have an impactful program. Repeating and refining these core lessons will help your clients absorb and implement the material better than constantly introducing something new.

So, next time you catch yourself worrying about content creation, just “play the hits!” Remember, consistency beats quantity every time. Less is more when it comes to guiding your clients toward real transformation.
