Sales Conversations Instead of Sales Scripts

You’re going to LOVE this…

I just came back from a wonderful week running our annual summer conference, CCA LIVE, with around 40 incredible coaches. It was an amazing experience, and I want to share a key insight with you: Sales Should Be Conversational, Not Scripted. HERE'S HOW YOU CAN DO IT:

  • Structure Without Scripts: Sales, when done right, is a structured conversation, not a rigid script. It’s about following a process that feels natural and authentic.
  • Ask Open-Ended Questions: Instead of leading clients with yes/no questions, ask open-ended ones. Dive deep into their needs and desires. Questions like, "Tell me more about that," or "Why is that important to you?" foster genuine connection.
  • Curiosity Over Cornering: When facing objections, approach with curiosity. Understand their concerns and work together to find solutions. It’s about problem-solving, not cornering.
  • Have Authentic Conversations: Each sales call should feel unique. While having a plan is crucial, allow the conversation to flow naturally. This authenticity builds trust and rapport.
