Taking Action in Your Coaching Business
THE #1 PRINCIPLE EVERY CHRISTIAN COACH NEEDS → ACTION TAKING
Last year I was diving deep into Tim Ferriss' "Tools of Titans" audiobook, and a story from Jamie Foxx really struck a chord with me. Jamie shared a moment with Ray Charles where he learned a profound lesson: "The notes are right under your fingers, baby. You just need to take the time out to play the right notes." This simple yet powerful analogy resonates deeply, especially when it comes to running our coaching businesses.
In coaching, like in playing piano, success hinges on taking action. We often know what needs to be done—the challenge lies in actually doing it.
Here are simple tips to get started with this principle:
- Implement What We Know: Whether it's refining our coaching processes or improving client relationships, the real growth happens when we implement our knowledge consistently.
- Create a Plan: Consider setting aside dedicated time each week to plan and strategize. It's about identifying the KEY ACTIONS needed to move forward.
- Find Accountability: Find a group/ community looking to achieve the same goals you are working on. For example in our "prospecting parties" in Sales School, we understand the importance of implementation over mere learning. We meet every other week to move our business forward. It's about taking action, refining, and mastering.
Let's commit to playing the right notes—taking deliberate actions daily, weekly, and beyond—to honor our calling and achieve meaningful results.
Remember, the success of our coaching businesses isn't just about knowing what to do; it's about actively DOING IT. Let's encourage each other in this journey of taking action.
God bless you all. Let's keep striving for excellence together.
